Kalam Patua: Carrying on the Kalighat Tradition

Kalam Patua: Carrying on the Kalighat Tradition

Kalam Patua wields his fame as lightly as he does his water-colour laden paint-brush. A renowned Kalighat artist, he is not only preserving this traditional art form but is also infusing it with new nuances and energy. An employee of the postal department in West Bengal, it is Kalam's mission to revive and reinvigorate the Kalighat painting tradition and he does this with great Úlan.
