Monastries/Dzongs/ Buildings/Houses

Traditional Bhutanese arts and crafts can be seen at all dzongs, the imposing monastic fortresses that can be found throughout Bhutan. Within their massive walls can be found items ranging from the most basic to highly stylised and ritualistic ones. Particularly striking are the architecture, altars, paintings, and statues that are an integral part of these structures.

Traditional houses and architectural structures can be seen dotting the country - they are a testimony to the artistic skill of the artisans, carpenters, painters and sculptors.
