Timings:10.00 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. Closed: Mondays

Suggested viewing time : 2-3 hours spread over 2-3 days. The museum has a collection of prehistory, protohistory, objects of Indus Valley civilization, sculptures of various periods including Gandhara, Sunga, Gupta, Amravati, etc, bronze images, copper plates, coins, miniature paintings, textiles, Bidri ware, glass ware, manuscripts, transferred wall paintings of Chamba, Kulu, Central Asia, tankhas, copies of Ajanta wall paintings, arms, arts, Pre-Colombian arts, objects of physical and cultural anthropology, Central Asian collections, pottery, and photographs of Tribal life. The museum has a library, film shows and lectures.
