The museum collection includes temple sculptures of the Pallavas, Chola and Vijaynagar period, Buddha from Pondicherry and Kirmampakkam, French period furniture, porcelain, paintings, cutlery, crockery, mirrors, lamps, terracotta figurines, shard of Arretine ware, rouletted ware, amphora, inscribed potteries, shell bangles, semiprecious stones and beads, burial urns, ring wells, rocks and minerals of Pondicherry, period bronzes, pooja articles, guns, swords, spears, lances, cannons and cannon balls, papier mache, cloth, broinzes, wood carvings, batik and kalamkari. All types of paintings - Tanjore, portraits, colonial, contemporary, pastels and water colours.
