The Ant (The Action Northeast Trust) is a voluntary organization registered as a public charitable trust since October 2002 at Bongaigaon, Assam. It has been set up by a group of development professionals who work in a region marked by economic under-development, ethnic violence, poor governance and political instability. The Ant works towards sustainable and holistic development for rural and poor voiceless communities mainly in the northeast. It works at two levels: in the villages of Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar districts of Assam, advocating certain issues and training support to NGOs and networks anywhere in the northeast.
